Seeing Butterflies

Monarch butterflies in particular are for Breuer a kind of miracle. Said to be able to transmit whispered wishes to the Great Spirit in native American lore, they migrate over 3000 miles annually from all over the US to their home in Mexico. Through their metamorphosis from caterpillar to pupa to butterfly, they are symbols of rebirth and resurrection. To Breuer they are part of the awesome beauty of the Universe.
