Lighthouses

To Tony, a lighthouse is an entity of great personal significance. His grandfather was Director of Marine Services of all Canada, in charge of 2,035 lights. In its working, a lighthouse is about life and death. It was the work of French physicist, Fresnel, that made it possible for light to be thrown 23 miles out, warning those who were blind at sea. "The physician part of me," says Breuer, "resonates with this. The artist part continues to explore a new way of seeing in spacetime, to mean our constant motion in the universe. The overwhelming forces of nature are reminders of how fragile we are. The warning and guiding light, a metaphor for our concern and care for each other."

“Love as though you are going to live forever, live as though you are going to die tomorrow.”
– Mahatma Ghandi
